The theme of the night is Mendhi.
Mehndi or mehendi is a form of temporary skin decoration using a paste created with henna. In the West, mehndi is commonly known as henna tattoo, although it is not a permanent tattoo. Mehndi is a popular form of body art in South Asia and resembles similar traditions of henna as body art found in North Africa, East Africa and the Middle East. There are many different names for mehndi across the languages of South Asia.
For those who are unaware and/or need a refresher - Rachael is super proud to be Indian. We want to honor that heritage with Welcome Drinks and Apps that are focused on Mendhi, a traditional Indian tradition where henna is offered and applied. Not required, but we will have a Henna station set up for those who are interested.
We encourage you to dress in Indian Culture clothing - but it is not mandatory whatsoever. Suggestions are below of how you can strut your stuff, Mendhi style.
