We met on JSwipe, a free dating app (so take that, JDate), and had our first date on December 27, 2015. We made things official on January 12, 2016, and moved in together in 2017. Since then, we’ve lived in Oakland, San Francisco (shout-out to Hayes Valley), and now Piedmont, California, with our adorable pets: Chai, our 3-year-old half-Doberman rescue, and William, our 11-year-old tabby rescue.
We got engaged on November 10, 2025, in the dynamic, amazing city of Amsterdam. Rachael was in Dublin, Ireland, for work in late October and early November 2025, so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to get engaged in a city Jesse loved and Rachael knew she would love, too. Amsterdam is one of the coolest cities on the planet, and we had our engagement photos taken there.
Why we chose San Diego for our venue: we love the beach, the water, the sunshine, and the laid-back energy.
